To Restart Services in WHM/cPanel

Restart is usually performed during installation or up-gradation of new software or during troubleshooting errors like service crashing, Overload on the server due to particular services etc., Procedure to restart the services using WHM/cPanel is explained in this article.


To restart the service in terminal

Run the following command to restart the services in the terminal.

#service < service_name>  restart
$sudo apt-get restart < service_name> 

To restart the services in WHM/cPanel

In WHM, we use Graphical User Interface to restart the services. Log in to the WHM home page and click restart services. It list the various services available in our system.

Click the services to be restarted. The FTP server ask for the restart confirmation. Click ' yes' to continue restart process.

After the confirmation, the FTP service restarts successfully and displays the status of the service as shown below.

The log message displays the list of events and error that occur during the service restart.

Similarly we can restart any service using WHM/cPanel.
