How to install Valentina on Ubuntu 17.04

To install Valentina on Ubuntu 17.04

Valentina is a free and open-source application to create clothing articles. It permits the users to create the patterns of cloth either by using standard sizes or custom set of measurements to create unique pattern tools. With Valentina the user can draw patterns of clothing, accessories and after the pattern is finished the output can be exported in corel Draw format to be used in softwares such as Inkscape, Illustrator. This tutorial explains the installation procedure of Valentina on Ubuntu 17.04.

Installation procedure

To proceed with the installation procedure, add the required repository by executing the following command.

root@linuxhelp:~# add-apt-repository ppa:dismine/valentina

create and modeling patterns of clothing.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:dismine/valentina
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install valentina

The repositories are added to the system. Now update the system by running the apt-get update command.

The valentina application is installed successfully in the system. To run the application, type the valentina application name in the Ubuntu dashboard and click on it to run the app.
