How to install Teamviewer 12 on Ubuntu

Teamviewer is a open source application to connect any remote desktop around the world. To download teamviewer latest version go to it’ s official site and download debian (.deb) package. This tutorial covers the installation process of Teamviewer.

Installation procedure

To start the installation procedure move the current working directory to the download location.

root@linuxhelp1:~# cd Downloads/
root@linuxhelp1:~/Downloads# ls
teamviewer_12.0.71510_i386.deb

Use gdebi package manager to install teamviewer in offline. Download the package for gdebi using the below command.

root@linuxhelp1:~/Downloads# apt-get install gdebi -y

Now install the package with gdebi command and install the teamviewer.

To open the application use the command “ teamviewer” or goto Ubuntu dash to search for teamviewer and run the application.
