To install Shotwell Photo Manager in Ubuntu

Shotwell is an open source, image organizer designed to provide personal photo management for the GNOME desktop environment. Installation of Shotwell is explained in this article

To install Shotwell

Utilise the following command to install the PPA repositories.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1/Desktop# add-apt-repository ppa:yg-jensge/shotwell  
 This PPA contains packages for the Shotwell releases.

OK


Then update the machine by running the following command.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1/Desktop# apt-get update

Hit:2 http://ppa.launchpad.net/saiarcot895/flightgear/ubuntu xenial InRelease

Run the following command to install the shotwell package.

root@linuxhelp:/home/user1/Desktop# apt-get install shotwell

Setting up shotwell (0.23.5-1~jensge1~xenial2) ...

To launch the shotwell package, search and open it from the Ubuntu dashboard.
search_shotwell
Now the shotwell photo manager is ready to use.
shotwell photo manager
Imported image from the folders in the shotwell photo manager.
last_import
You can edit the image using the available shotwell photo manager options.
