Frequently asked questions ( 5 )

Q

Is it possible to launch just a single profile (if more than 1 are specified) in Sbackup?

A

you can't launch sbackup for a single profile via the command line. It's the same as via the config- gui.
So if you want to launch a single profile, you will need to disable all the other accounts.

Q

After installation (or upgrading to Maverick or newer) I'm unable to find SBackup in the Gnome menu. Where is it?

A

SBackup installs menu entries under:
* Applications -> Accessories (start it from here a normal user without root privileges, does not support scheduled backups)

Q

Do Sbackup supports scheduled and manual backup?

A

Sbackup supports both scheduled backups and manual backups.

Q

How to rectify `Unable to mount host` while trying to connect to an SFTP/SSH site as the backup destination as superuser (root). What's wrong?

A

Probably your remote destination is not yet added as the trusted machine for user 'root'. Nautilus asks regular users when connecting to servers for the first time whether to trust the remote mac.

Q

What is the use of Sbackup in Ubuntu?

A

Sbackup is a simple backup solution for Linux desktop, which supports both local and remote backups. It is an open source that is used to back up any subset of files and folders.
