Frequently asked questions ( 5 )

Q

Why I can't able to open my password database?

A

First, eliminate the obvious: Make sure Caps Lock is off, and if your PC is multilingual, make sure that you're in the right language. If this doesn't help, try opening one of the backup files

Q

Is PasswordSafe available in my language?

A

See here for a list of currently supported languages, and how to add yours.

Q

How do I use TouchID to unlock my safes?

A

First, unlock your safe as usual, using your password. Them, tap the settings button to the bottom of the screen, which is the safe settings button. Finally, tap "Enable TouchID".

Next time you need to unlock your safe, you'll be able to do so using your fingerprint.

Q

I'm getting error 400 when trying to sync with Dropbox?

A

Dropbox has recently disabled the API used by pwSafe v1.

To keep using Dropbox, you need to upgrade to pwSafe 2, which superseded pwSafe 1 in 2014.

Q

When I try to unlock my safe, I get an error saying "can't open file". How to fix that?

A

Tap Edit
Tap your safe's name
Choose a new name for with English characters only
Tap "Done"
