To install kingsoft office in Ubuntu
In this manual we will learn how to install Kingsoft office. It is an open source office suite which is an alternative to Microsoft office. This consists of three main components namely,
- Kingsoft Writer
- Kingsoft Presentation
- Kingsoft Spreadsheet
To install Kingsoft office
Download kingsoft office packages from the following link,
http://wps-community.org/download.html?vl=a21#download
Once the download is completed, open the downloads directory
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1# cd Downloads/
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1/Downloads# ll
total 151384
drwxr-xr-x 2 user1 user1 4096 Jul 31 06:24 ./
drwxr-xr-x 19 user1 user1 4096 Jul 31 06:11 ../

Then install the Kingsoft by running the following command.
root@linuxhelp:/home/user1/Downloads# dpkg -i wps-office_10.1.0.5672~a21_amd64.deb
Selecting previously unselected package wps-office.

During the office package installation,you may get some errors,the errors will not affect the installation,so the continue the installation process

Search and open the Kingsoft application in the unity dashboard and now you can start preparing your documents.
