To install GIMP 2.8.22 on Ubuntu 18.04

Installation

Let' s First Start with updating the system repositories 

root@linuxhelp1:~# apt-get update

Hit:3 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-security InRelease

As Gimp is available in default repo you can install it as follows

root@linuxhelp1:~# apt-get install gimp

Use ' sudo apt autoremove'  to remove them.

After installation, access the application from the activity menu

ubuntu_menu

open_gimp

Navigate to Help menu to verify the version

gimp_version
