Frequently asked questions ( 5 )

Q

Is it possible to track downloads via Filezilla?

A

No, FileZilla does not have any transfer statistics. We could enable file logs and analyze them.

Q

What is the FTP?

A

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standardized network protocol used to transfer files between a client and a server over the internet or any other TCP/IP network.

Q

Is FileZilla free?

A

FileZilla is free open-source software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License free of charge. Basically, this means that everyone including corporate entities can use.

Q

Who can I contact at FileZilla?

A

There are several ways to establish contact with the developers: the easiest way might be the use of our forum or if a direct conversation is needed,
IRC - #filezilla at freenode (chat.freen)

Q

Why can't I list the contents of any directory on the server or transfer any files? Also, I get "Critical transfer errors" and am unable to connect to my server?

Most likely there is an incorrect configuration of either FileZilla, your router, or your firewall.
