To install Angry IP scanner on Ubuntu 17.04

Angry IP Scanner (ipscan)is an open-source, lightweight, cross-platform network scanner allowing the users to easily scan IP addresses and ports. The software pings all the available IP addresses in the network and resolves its hostname, determines the MAC addresses and scans ports. Also, it provides NetBIOS information: computer name, workgroup name, favorite IP address ranges and is capable to export the output as CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. The Angry IP Scanner functionality can also be extended via third party plugins and add-ons. It is so simple to install Angry IP scanner on Ubuntu 17.04 and this article covers the ground on the same process.

Installing Angry IP scanner

It is essential to install the gdebi package before you get to run the command to install Angry IP scanner. So, make sure you install gdebi as follows.

Once the file is downloaded, you shall simply install the Angry IP Scannner by triggering the following commnads.

Angry IP scanner has been installed, you can go to your Ubuntu dashboard and just type the name of the application, doing which displays the application icon. Click the icon to open Angry IP Scanner.

Once the application is open, you shall give the IP range and click on the Start option.
