How to Create Extension on Elastix

Elastix server allows its users to manage PBX devices. It is essential to assign extension for each and every telephone device. In this tutorial, we will see about the mechanism to create an extention on Elastix

To Create Extension

Login to your Elastix server Web-UI. Choose the PBX option on the left pane of the dashboard.

Add_extension

Once it is done, choose the SIP device and click submit

Enter the necessary details to create extension.

Basic information

Once the information is uploaded, click " Apply Config"

Once the extensions are created, you can manage it through operator panel.

You can locate the Elastix System Recordings files under /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/custom directory

Step is to create system partition requires before installing elastix. We need to create 3 partitions.


1. The System or Boot partition requires minimum 500M which should be mounted on /boot mount point.





2. The Swap partition which should double your RAM size, will be mounted on swap.





3. The Root partition which can set size according to your needs and should be mounted on /.
